Montgomery County is a centrally located county of Maryland, directly north of Washington, DC. It is home to approximately 971,000 citizens. Montgomery County is bordered on the Southwest by the Potomac River. The River Rescue and Tactical Services (RRATS or River Rats) team is a 60 person team providing emergency service for swiftwater, ice, and water related rescues requiring their expertise.
